When to Keep Silent

You don’t always need to speak or add something. With age I’ve found silence is sometimes an appropriate reaction. You don’t always have to respond.

I remember when someone would tell a story and I’d have to explain my similar experience, sometimes taking away from what my friend had told me. Now, a lot of times, I’ll let them keep that moment. It’s not about me, it’s about them. When someone says that they just tried something, instead of saying you have done that already, ask how they liked it, get more out of them before you tell your stories, if ever.

Your input isn't always needed.
